Meet Our Doctors

All members of our vision care team possess the dedication, experience, and professional demeanor necessary to provide personalized vision care to our clients.

Tim Courtney, OD

A native of Southeast Iowa, Dr. Tim is the kind of optometrist who enjoys the diverse challenges of working in a small town eye clinic. He loves fishing, canoeing, and spending time with his family – his twins Jack and Evie and his wife Chelsea.

Ryan Striegel, OD

Ryan spends most of his days having his beautiful family, Nash, Nolan, and wife Kylee, and all his excellent Axis Vision Care staff making him look good. Without them life and work would likely be very unorganized. He enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level. Eye care is engaging and fits his personality. If he’s not schooling Dr. Courtney in the art and techniques of bass fishing he is likely canoeing one of the many rivers of eastern Iowa, planting trees, or just enjoying the outdoors.

Samantha Harris, OD

Originally from Washington, IA, Dr. Sam graduated from the Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, TN) summa cum laude in 2021, the valedictorian of her class. At the clinic, she is focused primarily on infant and pediatric care, as well as managing patients with binocular vision problems. In her spare time, Sam and her husband enjoy spending time outside with their daughter (Elli) and pets.

Cade Millikin, OD

Cade grew up in smalltown Southeast Iowa and always knew that’s where he wanted to practice. He is a graduate of Pekin High School and Simpson College. He became a Hoosier when attending Indiana University School of Optometry. He enjoyed external rotations in a VA Medical Center in South Carolina, a native Alaskan hospital in western Alaska and a medical referral practice in central Indiana. All provided invaluable experiences to his early eyecare career. At Axis, he enjoys providing full scope optometry for his patients while also taking a special interest in soft and hard (GP) contact lenses.

He is married to his wife, Savannah, and they have a pup named Nelson. When he is not in the office seeing patients, you could find him helping on his family farm or boating at a lake.
